Meet the People of Amsterdam. Here we will showcase a different Amsterdam native every week. Every Amsterdam native will share a little about their lives during quarantine, sharing their favorite spots, and what makes Amsterdam so special to them. These interviews showcased another perspective that influenced their lifestyles. Read about how each individual continues to work on their work-life balance. Take it all in. After all, the People of Amsterdam know Amsterdam best. This week: Fenisia Turco, Multidisciplinary Designer @Ogilvy Social.Lab
I lost my job at the beginning of the quarantine and that has affected my life a lot, but looking for a job and working on small projects kept me busy.
I try to remind myself how much I love my job every time I feel a bit lost
How do you continue to build relationships with the people you work with?
I keep on talking with my ex-colleagues a lot, my team used to be like a family and we still spend time together to catch up and support each other in these hard times.

My goal is to practice more self-care. These last few months have been very hard and I’ll try my best to keep on being kinder to myself.
My family, even from a distance, helped me a lot to keep a positive mindset, and being surrounded by my boyfriend and my friends has been absolutely essential.
During the lockdown, I’ve started practicing yoga at home and that’s definitely something I’ll keep on doing.
After months of searching, I’ve finally found a job and I’m so grateful for that.
I’ve been hanging out a bit more often in Amsterdam Noord. I usually find a spot to read along the IJ or having a bike ride in the more remote parts of the city, where you’re surrounded by nature.
Radijs! It has always been one of my favorite spots for drinks or a coffee with friends because of their terrace and amazing snacks.
I’ll definitely try to see more of the Netherlands. I moved to Amsterdam almost 3 years ago and I’ve always wanted to discover more about the country.
I believe that the “new normal” will be very different from what we were used to. In general, the lockdown made me appreciate the small things more and that’s for sure something I’ll cherish.
Be kind to yourself 🙂
