After all, the People of Amsterdam know Amsterdam best. This week: Alexandra Pafford, Inside Sales Associate

Have there been any changes in how you work? How do you cope with those changes?

No – I changed jobs in June, so I started my job after the pandemic already started. I work 100% from home. It’s certainly different from what I’m used to in comparison to my previous job, but because I started my job like this, there’s not much to say in terms of how it would be otherwise.

Could you share with us about your mindset to stay motivated?
Earning an income and adding value to my team.

How do you continue to build relationships with the people you work with?
Casual weekend socials.

Do you have a goal of how you’ll come out of this Covid-19 situation? Could you tell us about it and how you’re going to achieve it?

It is hard to say because nobody knows when it will end, so I cannot answer how I’d like to come out of it.

Is there something or someone that’s helping you to get through the lockdown?

My group of best girlfriends and my boyfriend; Video chat with my family and friends abroad.

Have you adopted anything new as a part of your lifestyle? Do you see it continuing even after the pandemic?

Working entirely from home. I prefer it because I’m able to have a better work/life balance, so I’d like to continue to do so.

We all have something we could be proud of. Could you share with us your moment of pride during the lockdown?

Getting a well-paying and stable job and obtaining a new residency permit in June.

Have you found a new spot in Amsterdam that you are going to more often?

House parties! You’re able to have fun and dance with friends and music even without nightclubs.

Restaurants and local stores were closed for a while. Which one are you glad to have reopened and why?

The hairdressers!

How are you going to spend your vacation days, now that you can hardly travel anywhere?

In the park with my friends. But let’s see what colder weather brings

Are you longing for things to complete return to what it was? Or do you have something you wish to have continued into the future?

I really want things to return to normal so we can go about our lives freely without worrying about loved ones getting sick and living your early 20s with so much restriction in terms of leisure and career prospects.

Do you have a tip or advice for the reader to help them get through the pandemic?

Speak with your loved ones as often as possible to maintain the semblance of normalcy.
